Abstract

Dividend payout ratio is the amount of dividends distributed by the company to investors. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of profitability, firm size and leverage on the dividend payout ratio in manufacturing companies listed on the Indonesian stock exchange in 2017-2019. This type of research is quantitative research where the population or sample is analyzed to test hypotheses. The type of data used is secondary data which will be processed from published data. The data obtained were then analyzed using the SPSS 24 application. The study in determining the number of samples of companies used the purpose sampling method, the samples obtained were 42 companies. The data obtained from these companies were then tested using descriptive statistical tests, classical assumption tests, and multiple linear regression analysis. So that the results obtained indicate that profitability has no effect on dividend payout ratios, firm size has no effect on dividend payout ratios, and leverage has no effect on dividend payout ratios. Based on the results of the study, it can be said that not all of these 3 variables have an influence on the dividend payout ratio.
