Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of working capital, company size and growth opportunity on the profitability of banking companies listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange. The working capital variable is measured by the difference between current assets and current debt. The firm size variable is measured by total assets. The growth opportunity variable is measured by the amount of asset development from the current year to the previous year. Meanwhile, the profitability variable is calculated using the ROA (Return On Assets) formula. The population in this study amounted to 43 company entities listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange for the period 2016 - 2018. The research sample was 28 entities selected using the purposive sampling method. Data were analyzed using multiple linear regression. The test results concluded that working capital and growth opportunity did not have a significant effect on company profitability. Meanwhile, company size has a significant effect on company profitability.
