Abstract

The purpose of this study is to determine the effect of Return On Equity (ROE) and Earning Per Share (EPS) to stock prices, either partially or simultaneously. The sample used is food and beverage companies listed in Indonesia Stock Exchange (IDX) period 2014-2016. Data collection method used in this research is Purposive Sampling, where the sample selection is based on the consideration of predetermined criteria. The techniques used are classical assumption assay, hypothesis test and multiple regression analysis. The results showed that the partial variable Return On Equity (ROE) has a positive and significant effect on stock prices. While for Earning Per Share (EPS) have a significant but not significant effect on stock prices or it can be assumed that EPS has no effect on stock prices. Simultaneously, all independent variables of this study together have a significant effect on stock prices with a significance level below 5%. The value of coefficient of determination (Adjust R Square) of 0.239 which shows 23.90% share price of food and beverage companies can be explained ROE and EPS. The remaining 76.10% of stock price is influenced by other variables outside this research. Limitations of this study is to examine the influence of ROE and EPS on stock prices, while other variables affecting stock prices are expected to be investigated by further researchers.
