Abstract

All businesses have the responsibility to prepare and submit financial reports; However, some companies fail to do so, resulting in delays in reporting or even in the explanation of audited financial statements. This objective is to identify and study how managerial ownership, operational complexity, audit tenure, and financial distress impacted audit delays in IDX-listed banking companies between 2018 and 2022. In this study, sample selection was carried out using the purposive sampling method with samples from 45 different companies. The data used is secondary data, consisting of the company's financial statements available on the IDX website and www.idx.co.id for the years 2018–2022. This study uses a multiple line regression technique with SPSS software version 24. The results of this study show that financial distress has a negative impact on audit delays, as well as operating complexity and managerial ownership, which also has a negative impact. In addition, audit tenure does not have a negative impact on audit delays.
